The Samsung Gear 2 is a smart watch developed by Samsung Electronics .
It was presented at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona.
Its operating system is no longer Android as on its predecessor the Galaxy Gear , but under Tizen 1 . It has an Exynos processor and was launched in April 2014.
The Samsung Gear 2 comes in two versions, one called Gear 2, which includes a 2-megapixel camera with auto-focus that can make videos in 720p, and the other called Neo or Lite (see Light for The French market) that does not have a camera.
The Samsung Gear 2 is sold in France since April 11 for 199 € for the Gear 2 Lite.
Both watches are turning to healthcare with dedicated applications and they incorporate a heart rate sensor.
They have a screen of 1.63 inches AMOLED and are certified to IP67 . They can both be connected via Bluetooth to a mobile phone , the connection allowing more features if the phone in question runs Android , Tizen or a derivative, at best belonging to the Galaxy range of Samsung and recent 2 .
