Nixon is an American company of watches for the surf , then of accessories fashion and equipment of sliding ( surf , snowboards , skateboards ).
In California ( Encinitas ) in 1997 , two Californians, Chad DiNenna (surfing enthusiast) and Andy Laats, an engineer, decide to create specialized watches for surfing.
In 2000, a Nixon subsidiary was established in Europe, with three stores: in Soorts-Hossegor , in London and then in Paris . In 2005, the company had 60 employees and annual sales growth of 55%.
In 2006, a new impetus was given to the Nixon brand after its acquisition by Billabong , the leading surf company. Since 2009, it also manufactures audio speakers and headphones.
Its main product is made up of models of watches for surfing which must not only resist a very violent and aggressive environment (salt, sun, sand, immersion, falls), but offer special complications such as tide height, from the moon.
