Fox News kills Monsanto story

The extraordinary story of the suppression by Fox News executives of an investigative news report on a genetically engineered hormone. The story was killed after pressure from the corporation that developed it - Monsanto, which is affiliated with top Fox advertisers. The station first asked the journalists to change the story and when they refused, Fox then offered to pay the reporters to keep quiet, before finally firing them and refusing to air their report. Prof Seralini Interviewed About Organ Damage Linked to GM Maize

This is an interview with Prof. Gilles-Eric Séralini, the leader of the research team from the Committee of Independent Research and Information on Genetic Engineering (CRIIGEN) and the Universities of Caen and Rouen which obtained Monsanto's confidential raw data of its 2002 feeding trials on rats, after a European court made it public in 2005. The data "clearly underlines adverse impacts on kidneys and liver, the dietary detoxifying organs, as well as different levels of damages to heart, adrenal glands, spleen and haematopoietic system," reported Prof. Séralini, a molecular biologist at the University of Caen. Their December 2009 study appeared in the International Journal of Biological Sciences (IJBS). (Time: 9:38)
